The ABB SPA-ZC400 is a communication adapter that provides Ethernet connectivity to REF 541/3/5, RET 541/3/5, and REM 543/5 protection and control devices. It supports the IEC 61850, SPA TCP/IP, and Modbus TCP/IP protocols. The SPA-ZC400 is available in two versions:

• SPA-ZC400EMP: This version has an electrical SPA port and an optional fiber-optic SPA port.
• SPA-ZC400EMG: This version has two fiber-optic SPA ports.
